The Mark Experience
and Remarkably Unique
Safety First
We’ve missed you at The Mark! After months of social distancing and quarantining, we want to provide you with a safe oasis to escape to.
For more information or further reassurance, please contact Concierge@TheMarkHotel.com or watch this video.
Our first priority is your safety. We have consulted with leading health experts in order to ensure that you feel safe and sound. With this in mind, please find our current standards of operation outlined below, which are in accordance with CDC and AHLA Stay Safe Guidelines.
Your Arrival
As of November 4th, new guidelines have been announced allowing out-of-state travelers to New York to “test out” of the mandatory 14-day quarantine. For the complete guidelines, please visit www.ny.gov/traveladvisory. The following groups are currently exempt from the New York State Travel Advisory:
– Individuals from bordering states (New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Vermont).
– Guests coming for medical visits or essential work
– Travelers coming from countries/territories designated as not subject to the advisory.
For the current list, please visit the website. All guests travelling in from non-bordering states and areas must complete the New York State Traveler Health Form prior to arrival. To fill out the form, you may visit ny.gov/traveladvisory.
Check-in
All guests receive non-invasive temperature checks utilizing thermal forehead thermometers on arrival. Guests enter the hotel through automatic doors to avoid usage of door handles. There are sneeze-guards in front of both The Front Desk and The Concierge Desk. Guests requesting bell service are assisted and the bell cart is sanitized between usage. At check-in, guests are advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not traveling with them while standing in lines, waiting for elevators, or moving around the property.
Public Spaces
The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces including, but not limited to, Front Desk, Concierge Desk, elevators and elevator buttons, door handles, public bathrooms, room keys and locks, stair handrails, seating areas, and bikes. Hand sanitizer dispensers are placed at key guest entrances, lift landings, and the Front and Concierge Desks.
Guest Hotel Elevators
A Public Area Attendant is present to disinfect the button panels at regular intervals, at least once per hour. No more than 2 guests are permitted per elevator if they are not part of the same family.
Guestrooms and Suites
Guests are assigned a room that has been thoroughly cleaned and professionally disinfected after each and every departure. We use cleaning products and protocols which meet EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) guidelines for use against the virus that causes COVID-19 and are effective against viruses, bacteria and other airborne and bloodborne pathogens.
All guestrooms and suites have operating windows along with individual dedicated fan coil units and no shared vents. This allows for fresh, clean air to circulate throughout every room.

Treats by Ladurée
End your day on a sweet note…
In 1862 Louis Ernest Ladurée opened his little bakery on the rue Royale and almost 20 years later, Ladurée’s cousin Pierre Desfontaines created the macaroon that they would became famous for. Desfontaines developed the idea to fix two pieces of the mellow macaroon cake with a garnish of tasty flavor. In that moment the small, fluffy cake that is crunchy on the outside and melts on the inside, became a delicacy that would be appreciated around the world. Nowadays, The Mark prides itself in providing these unique macaroons as the perfect compliment to your stay. Enjoy these delicate treats by your bedside on your first night’s stay.
