Patrice Dangel

After studying at the Ecole Boulle and Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Patrice Dangel began working as an engraver at the Valzuani art foundry — famous for its work with Rodin, Camille Claudel and Maillol. Soon after Dangel became a master sculptor, with a particular feel for the art of the patina. In 1977, Dangel opened a studio in the Bastille with partners Patrice Gilbon and Jean-Pierre Coroller, earning a reputation as the world’s foremost practitioners of bronzing. In the intervening years their work has evolved to include new sculptural techniques, and expanded to incorporate materials as varied as wood, stone, ceramic and glass.
