Ron Arad

With a career that simultaneously spans art, architecture and design, Ron Arad is a singular presence on the international scene: part sculptor, part furniture designer, part mad scientist, his inimitable objects and buildings are concrete realizations of an inner wit and savvy. Arad studied architecture with Peter Cook and Bernard Tschumi, before establishing One Off with Caroline Thorman in 1981. He established his name based on an aesthetic that challenges assumptions about objects and their use. Since 1998 he’s run the Design Products program, which he founded, at the Royal College of Art, the department he founded.
