Today was the launch of Google’s “Art Project”, which showcases 17 art galleries from around the world, including our very own MoMA, The Frick Collection & The Metropolitan Museum of Art. These NYC museums are being showcased among the elite, like London’s National Gallery, the Palace of Versailles, the Van Gogh Museum, Freer Gallery of Art & Museum Kampa, just to name a few.
Through this program, visitors of the site have the ability to view masterpieces in each museum’s collection. The really unique part of this, is the detailing that you can see when you zoom in; the brush strokes, canvas textures & cracks due to aging. Next to visiting the museum in person, this is a truly remarkable way to view each piece of work.
