2010 Holiday Windows

In case you have not seen them yet, this year’s Department Store Holiday Windows are absolutely exquisite.  Creative Director Simon Doonan of Barney’s New York created replicas of famous male Chefs like Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali, Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri for the store’s “Have a Foodie Holiday” campaign.  While then menswear window is in an all out food fight, the Women of the food industry are staying warm in their Snuggies.

Bergdorf Goodman’s David Hoey created his ‘Wish You Were Here’ fantasy travel visions through a winged horse, a crystallized space odyssey with a crystal alligator, Roman mythology & 1940’s Hollywood musicals.

Saks Fifth Avenue takes us on a different road and tells us a story of a young girl that finds her way into her parents “cabinet of curiosities” and leads us through her imagination in each bubble & snowflake infused window.

With white & crystal adorned trees and ballerina’s hanging throughout the store, Henri Bendel channeled NYC’s very own The Nutcracker.  Bloomingdale’s, in retrospect, chose to feature an art installation with over 100 digital screens displaying the winter landscape and not one piece of merchandise.  Which is your favorite?
